AGM UPDATE – IMPORTANT NOTICE

As many of you know, the club has announced new arrangements for its AGM following the First Minister’s statement today in which she urged reductions in the mixing of people from different households. On the same principle that the wellbeing of our members must be our priority, the board has taken the decision that our own AGM, scheduled for 6.00pm on Thursday 16 December, will be relocated from the Gorgie Suite to the Main Stand and will deal only with formal business. This new location will enable social distancing and, as we are all well aware, it offers plenty of ventilation. It will also help reduce the mixing of people from different households in line with the First Minister’s request but, importantly, still allow members who have not exercised a proxy vote (and those that have been appointed a proxy by others) to vote. The formal business which will be conducted will only take up to 15 minutes.

The result of the election for the new board members will be made available on Thursday and will be posted on our website and on our social media.

Clearly at such an important time in the Foundation’s history, having to make these changes to our AGM is a very regrettable state of affairs. As it has not been possible to arrange virtual coverage, it is our intention to organise a meeting for members in person just as soon as possible (hopefully before the end of January) which will cover those elements of the proceedings which will not be part of Thursday’s meeting. This will include the presentations and Q&A session which are an important part of the directors’ engagement with the membership.

For those who do wish to attend on Thursday, registration will be via South Turnstiles 27 – 36 in the Main Stand from 5.30pm. Please, unless you are medically exempt, wear a mask at all times while inside the stadium. Confirmation of your vaccination status, exemption or proof of a negative lateral flow test (taken on the day of the AGM) will also be required. As per the First Minister’s announcement, we encourage all who attend the AGM to take a lateral flow test that morning to protect them and all others who attend.

As the club has also stated regarding its AGM, this is a very unfortunate development. We thank you for your patience and we look forward to meeting with as many of you as possible at the follow-up session.
